Some endorsements carry a little more weight because of the road it took to get there.
Sheriff Darren Hart and I once stood on opposite sides of an election. Throughout that campaign, we treated each other with professionalism, courtesy and mutual respect. That respect has continued long after the election was over. Today, I’m proud to have his endorsement as I seek to become the next Sheriff of Rock Island County.
Sheriff Hart knows this office. He knows the responsibility that comes with leading it, the challenges our men and women face, and what it takes to serve this county. Anyone can run, but not everyone can run this office. He has done a phenomenal job doing so.
To have his support as I work to take that next step in my career is something I deeply appreciate.
