💵500 BILLION DOLLARS🔥💵

Yes, you read that right. That is the amount that was incorrectly put in the Illinois State Budget that passed the House and Senate at 4AM on June 1st.

The Democrats and Governor Pritzker are trying to explain this away as a simple error. However, what it has actually done is proven the point of Republicans that it is completely reckless for the Democrats to pass 4,000 page budgets in the middle of the night.

We thought it was just Republicans that didn't have a chance to read the budget, but apparently not even the Democrats proofread their last minute amendments.

If a $500 billion dollar mistake can make it in the state budget, what else is being shoved in those pages that nobody knows about? It's time for transparency!

Record $55.9 billion in spending. And nearly $1 billion in new taxes to fuel the insatiable appetite for more government spending.

Even $500 billion in vetoed budget errors!

More taxes. More debt. More corruption. More of the same.

Illinois families deserve better than a budget that keeps growing while businesses close and costs keep rising—all of which passed late at night while everyone is asleep. It’s time to end the tax-and-spend cycle and start putting our state on a sustainable path forward.

After the largest-in-history $55.9 Billion FY 27 State Budget was signed into law by Governor Pritzker on June 16, State Representative Chris Miller (R-Hindsboro) issued the following statement and criticized the governor’s perception of affordability.

“JB Pritzker gaslights the citizens of Illinois and continues to drive costs up for working families by supporting progressive policies,” said Miller. “Every year he gives money to illegal immigrants while families and businesses flee to greener pastures. The citizens of Illinois are fed up with Pritzker’s lies, and they want to live in a state that prioritizes citizens over illegal immigrants.”

I've been fortunate to spend my career working with people all across Illinois.

I've sat at kitchen tables with families. Walked fields with farmers. Visited manufacturing plants. Met with small business owners trying to grow and create jobs.

What I've learned is simple:

People want many of the same things.
Safe communities.
Affordable living.
Opportunity for their children.
A government that listens.

Those goals don't belong to one region or one political party. They belong to the people of Illinois.

Just after 4:00 a.m. on the last night of session, Illinois Democrats pushed through a staggering $55.9 billion state budget, the largest in state history, propped up by more than $800 million in new tax hikes.
