We had several trades folks today at the City of Davenport, State of the City event this morning. We have a very strong Council and Mayor onboard right now and the trades look to move forward with some positive momentum along with them. Thank you Mayor Gordon. I had the chance to celebrate the graduation of the 26th class of the Black Hawk College HCCTP today. This is such a great program that helps individuals get the beginner training for skills to help them into the trades. It is inspiring to hear their stories and dreams of joining the trades. I wish we could take them all. Great job to everyone at BHC. Especially Paul Fessler and Julie Gelaude🏆🏆

Enjoyed a nice toolbox luncheon for the Illowa IMPACT Agreement, Thank you to Electricians Local 145 for the space. These Brothers and Sisters are working on a 100% Union project at Moline’s South Slope Water Treatment Plant. $115 million dollar project being managed by IHC Construction out of Elgin, IL.

Congratulations to Jack Cullen, Executive Director of the Rock Island Downtown Alliance, on receiving a 2026 Eddy Award in the Revitalization category from River Action Quad Cities at the 24th Annual Fish & Fire dinner. 👏❤️

The Eddy Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have gone “against the current” to get things done and have accomplished outstanding riverfront activity or development.

Jack was recognized for his leadership during a pivotal moment for Downtown Rock Island, helping guide major investments in public services, public spaces, streetscaping, pocket parks and revitalization efforts that continue to move our downtown forward.
