We will be continuing our annual in service training by temporarily closing a section of Galleria Blvd on Tuesday, September 15, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You may notice an increased police presence in the area surrounding the Rock Hill Galleria Mall during this time. The training will take place in a separate area and will not impact mall operations. All businesses will remain open, and there will be no disruptions inside the mall.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause in remembrance of the victims whose lives were forever changed by this tragedy.

We honor them, their memory, their families, and the lasting impact of that day. Never forget.

🚲Electric bicycles (E-Bikes) in South Carolina must have two or three wheels, fully operable pedals, an electronic motor no more than 750 watts (or one horsepower), and a top motor-powered speed under 20 mph.

🪪You do not need a driver’s license, registration, or insurance for a legal E-Bike.

🛑Riders must follow and adhere to all rules of the road which include stopping at stop signs and obeying traffic signals.

⚠️Bikes exceeding these limits are treated differently under state law.

🏍️Electric dirt bikes (E-Motos) are not e-bikes. They are motor vehicles that must be properly insured and registered through the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles before a properly licensed driver can legally operate them on public roads.

Chief Watts and the Rock Hill Police Department extend deepest condolences to the Columbia Police Department, SC, the family, and friends mourning the loss of Officer Christopher Delong Jr. who was killed in the line of duty. His courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We pray for the recovery of Officer David Dymock who was also injured this morning.

May all affected by this heartbreaking tragedy find strength and comfort.
