Don't let the cloudy weather fool you. A few minutes can change a life forever.

Children are more sensitive to heat than adults, making them especially vulnerable to heat stroke. Cars can get dangerously hot, and the temperatures inside them can rise up to 50° hotter than the outside temperature.

That means even a cool or overcast day can become deadly for a child or pet left behind in a car.

Before you walk away, always check the back seat. Take these three simple steps to help prevent your loved ones from being accidentally left in a vehicle.

Today, Governor Henry McMaster signed H.3034 known as Fargo’s, Hyco’s, Rico’s, Coba’s, Wick’s, Mikka’s, and Bumi’s Law.

The law increases penalties for harming or killing law enforcement dogs and horses, requires restitution, and provides financial benefits when patrol canines are injured or killed in the line of duty. Several of our handlers and K-9 officers were in attendance including Apollo who has fully recovered after being injured last year.
