COLD WEATHER ALERT ❄️⚡💡

When temperatures drop, electricity use rises due to heating systems working longer and more often, along with people spending more time at home. That increased usage will likely be reflected on your next bill.

While the City of Rock Hill has not had an electric rate increase since 2017, and rates actually decreased in 2021, higher energy use during freezing temperatures often leads to higher winter bills.

Stay informed and in control by monitoring your usage online. Log in to your account and choose CustomerConnect Site under Additional Consumption to:
• Track your energy and water use
• Set consumption alerts
• Learn tips for reducing consumption

3:30 PM Update: This repair is ongoing and will impact the evening commute. Please try to avoid the area and find an alternate route towards Newport/York.

------------------------------------

🚨 The Water Department has the westbound right lane closed in front of QuickTrip on Celanese near the Rock Hill-York County Airport for emergency water main repair.

Traffic will be impacted and drivers should find an alternate route, if possible.

No water during the cold? If you had water service before the cold and don’t see a leak, chances are the water in your pipes is frozen. Turn faucets on so when water thaws it can escape and help prevent pipes from bursting.

Slow drip your faucet when outdoor temperatures are below freezing to help prevent frozen pipes.
