Our thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in blue at Columbia Police Department, SC as they lost an officer today and another officer was injured earlier today.

School buses will be back on the roads next week.
SC law 56-5-2770: You MUST stop for a school bus the entire time its red or amber lights are flashing, OR its stop arm is extended.

Behind the bus? Stop, every time.
Opposite direction on a multi-lane highway? You may proceed with caution.
Every other scenario? STOP.

Our Traffic Enforcement Unit will be out in force the next few weeks looking for those impatient drivers who may dare to pass a stopped school bus picking up or dropping off students.
