MOUNT HOLLY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
SEPTEMBER 2026
Dear Mount Holly Families,
Summer is winding down and we are midway through the first quarter of the school year. Thank
you again for helping us get the 2026–2027 school year off to an incredible start!
Please take a few moments to review the important reminders below.
Attendance Awareness Month
Across the country, more than 8 million students are academically at risk due to missing so many
days of school. September is Attendance Awareness Month, a time to learn about attendance
issues, absenteeism, and the effects attendance can have on academic performance and success.
School attendance is vital to academic success. Absences, whether excused or unexcused, can
add up to academic trouble. Unless for illness, let’s work to have all of our Mount Holly
students present every day. Also, let’s work to have all of our students at school, on time and in
class by the 7:45AM bell. For the month of August, we had at least 245 tardies to school. RHSD
will celebrate Attendance Awareness Week September 14 – 18.
Early Dismissal Procedures
Early dismissals end at 1:50PM. After this time, students may only be checked out for verified
medical appointments. Please bring appointment documentation when signing your child out.
Breakfast Arrival Times
If your child is a morning car rider and eats breakfast at school, please ensure they arrive early
enough to be in the cafeteria by 7:25AM. This provides sufficient time to eat breakfast and arrive
in class by 7:45AM. Students arriving in the cafeteria after 7:30AM will receive a grab-and-go
breakfast so they can report to class on time. The cafeteria will close for breakfast at 7:40AM.
Morning Arrival
If Safety Patrol members have already entered the building and an adult is visible at the front
entrance before 7:45AM, students still have time to enter before the tardy bell. Once the
7:45AM bell rings and the front doors close, students are considered tardy, and a parent or
guardian must come inside to sign them in.
Thank you again for partnering with Mount Holly Elementary. Your support helps create a safe,
positive, and successful learning environment where every student can grow with confidence.
Together, let's make this an outstanding year as we Watch Us Bloom!
