Today we had the opportunity to stand by at Monticello High School for a prom drill focused on the very real dangers of impaired driving. These simulations may only last a short time, but the message behind them is lifelong.
In EMS, we see firsthand how quickly one decision can change everything; not just for the driver, but for passengers, families, and entire communities. What might seem like “just one ride” or “just one drink” can end in tragedy.
Events like this aren’t meant to scare individuals but they’re meant to prepare, educate, and remind everyone that every choice matters. Prom should be a night full of memories for the right reasons.
Plan ahead. Stay safe. Look out for each other.
