Just days away from Tap Into Giving at The Sheffield (1776 Monroe Ave)!

June 10th from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM!

We are ready to announce our final bartending shifts!

Joining Kelly Breuer on the opening shift will be Vince DiGiorgio, owner of ONE Custom Clothier !

Taking over the middle shift will be two of our favorite bartenders from The Italian American Sport Club (www.iascrochester.com).

As previously announced - shift #3 will be covered by returning fan favorites Kyle and Carly from Farley's Friends !

As we come near the end of we have a few thoughts...

If we want to - we need to talk openly and honestly about our needs, our care, and how to receive that care.

At Community Place, we don't offer direct Mental Health Services, but we do have programs that offer support:

Socialization and education through our Youth, Aging, and IDD Programs.
Respite for caregivers.
Food and, when funding allows, rental and utility assistance.

This just scratches the surface.

Wednesday was an amazing day for our agency as we celebrated our 25th year as an agency after the merger of three historic settlement houses - Lewis Street Center, Genesee Settlement House, and Eastside Community Center!! We were so happy to be in the presence of good friends, new and old.

Mayor Malik Evans presented our CEO, Scott Benjamin, with a proclamation honoring our 25 years of service within the community. We were honored to be in the presence of so many people who have worked and volunteered in these very neighborhoods - side by side with us and many of our partnerships in both the public and private sectors.

The difference we make each day - we make together.

We had an amazing time yesterday for United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes ! Two sites - 30+ volunteers - two amazing companies - thank you Genesee Regional Bank and Paychex (Legal!).

The key phrase of the day was - also, apparently these companies come with mind readers because they were finishing jobs and then moving on to the next thing before we could even ask. Weeding, mulching, pruning, general clean-up, assembling furniture, fixing a Bingo board, and sorting clothes donations! They did it all! Making us pretty inside and out! And then we ate, and they got a chance to learn about the work we do and their impact on our community.
