The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office took a report in reference to multiple attempted vehicle burglaries and completed burglary to vehicle on Cravens Road today. The incidents occurred overnight. Summertime is popular time for this activity. Please keep your house and vehicles locked!!

Sangamon County will be under a tornado watch until 9:00 p.m.

Severe storms are expected across most of central Illinois through this evening. All hazards are possible, including winds over 75 mph, embedded tornadoes, and large hail up to golf ball size. Stay weather aware and ensure you have multiple ways to receive warnings.

Good evening, Rochester. We took a call from a resident about a possible solicitor who stopped by off Oak Hill about 30 minutes ago. Better safe than sorry!

I was able to locate the gentlemen who is working for FireFly Energy. He is working under a valid solicitor permit issued by the village.

He was very polite and the their website even lists their employees along with a photo which I thought was helpful. We don’t mind taking those calls and verifying that permits are valid etc.

This gentleman’s name was Joshua.
