I was honored to attend today's Paint a Miracle Luncheon alongside Mayor Deb Jones. Paint a Miracle empowers individuals with disabilities to explore their creativity in an atmosphere of hope, growth, and encouragement 🥰 and today's packed house was a testament to how deeply our community supports that mission. It was a truly inspiring afternoon with amazing art! 🩷 🎨🫟

Exciting news for Rochester, Michigan!

Our city has been designated a Monarch Champion City — the only one in Michigan and one of just 8 in the entire nation!

This recognition comes through the National Wildlife Federation's Mayor's Monarch Pledge, and Nancy Salvia - Rochester City Council, who signed the Mayor's Monarch Pledge is receiving the certificate.

A huge thank you to the City Beautiful Commission and Rochester Pollinators — the organization I founded — for their tireless efforts to make this happen. Your passion for protecting pollinators made Rochester a national leader.

I'm incredibly proud of our community and the people in it who care about leaving a healthier world for future generations of Monarch butterflies and our other pollinators.

So great to see our historic train depot brought back to life - beautifully renovated and full of energy again. We had lunch at the new sandwich shop (so good!) and couldn’t leave without trying the chocolate - almond coconut was heavenly!

This is exactly the kind of thoughtful reuse and revitalization that keeps our community vibrant. They’re also hosting parties and special events - definitely worth checking out!

Fresh finds at the Farmers Market this morning 🍓🌽 8am-1pm!

There’s something really special about being able to pick up local, fresh food and then walk right over to the Health & Wellness Fair at Rochester High School for free resources, screenings, and activities for all ages. Be sure to check it out!

Grateful for a community that makes it easy to take care of ourselves and each other! 🥰

I had the honor of attending the first-ever Sips for S.A.V.E.S. fundraiser, and what an incredible evening it was! 🙌

The S.A.V.E.S. Project was born right here in Rochester, and it’s now being adopted by communities across Michigan. This program is making a real difference, helping first responders better connect with individuals with autism, dementia, and other vulnerabilities.

Proud to support such a meaningful initiative that started in our backyard! 💙

We gathered in front of City Hall earlier this week to celebrate Arbor Day, planting a Liberty Elm in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, 🇺🇸 and trees honoring our incredible City Clerks — including a special tribute to Lee O’Connor, our longest-serving Clerk, as she heads into a well-earned retirement.

And of course, no celebration is complete without the next generation! A huge thank you to the Girl Scouts for joining us, to all the kids who came out (including a few of mine 😄), and to everyone who shared in the fun — seed poppers, cookies, and all. 🌱🍪

Here’s to growing together!

A heartfelt thank you to my City Council colleague Nancy Salvia for inviting me to this year’s Rochester Area Prayer Breakfast!

It was so wonderful to see so many familiar faces and hear the powerful stories shared by speaker and author Chad Williams. Grateful for moments like these that bring our community together. 💛

I had such a great time this afternoon at Rochester’s Founders Day celebration at the Van Hoosen Farm.

It was really special to pause and reflect on our community’s beginnings—honoring the arrival of the James Graham family in 1817 and the founding of the first permanent settlement in Oakland County. The presentation by historian Carol Bacak-Egbo on Revolutionary War soldiers buried in our local cemeteries was especially fascinating, and the bagpiper added such a meaningful touch to the event.

Moments like this remind me how lucky we are to live in a city with such deep roots, strong traditions, and a community that truly values its history.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this event together and keep Rochester’s story alive.
