September 5th is now officially recognized as Trans Day of Joy! 🏳️‍⚧️🎉 I had a wonderful afternoon at the first ever Trans Pride Festival hosted by Next Generation Men Of Transition, WAVE Woman Inc., and The Marsha P. Johnson Institute. Thank you for honoring me as an advocate for the community, I look forward to our continued work together to protect LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers.

This incredible program is the only one of its kind in the world and offers free career and hands-on instructional opportunities for City of Rochester young people interested in the aviation industry. Proud to stand with my colleague and friend Senator Michelle Hinchey and local labor leaders to call on Governor Hochul to sign the AI Labor Information Act into law. This first-in-the-nation legislation passed both the Assembly and Senate last session and now awaits the governor’s signature. Our bill would require employers to report how AI is being used in their business models, including hiring, so the state can establish best practices ahead of AI's impact on the workforce. This is a chance for New York to lead the nation on understanding AI's effect on our labor market — protecting workers while keeping our businesses competitive.

Great meeting with Lori VanAuken and her team at Catholic Charities Family and Community Services in Rochester to see the work they do for families across our 12-county region — from behavioral health and housing to services for seniors, people with disabilities, and refugees and immigrants.
