On 988 Day of Action, we’re reminding New Yorkers that 988 is more than a number, it’s a lifeline.
For years, we’ve fought to strengthen access to mental health and crisis support, and that fight is far from over.
At a time when the federal administration is cutting funding for the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, New York must step up to protect this critical resource. When someone reaches out in a moment of crisis, we cannot afford to have fewer resources on the other end of the line.
988 deserves reliable funding, just like other essential emergency infrastructure. That’s why we recently introduced and are advocating for S9745/A4108, to establish a dedicated and sustainable source of funding for the lifeline.
Today, know the number. Share the number. And support the cause.
