This week is Infant Mental Health Awareness Week โ€” and it starts with a simple truth: babies cannot survive or regulate themselves on their own.

The predictable, loving pattern of attunement and reciprocity between a caregiver and their infant isn't just nurturing โ€” it's neurological. It builds a foundational sense of safety and trust that directly drives positive infant mental health outcomes throughout a child's life.

This is why Infant Mental Health matters. And this is why SPCC's Mary Ellen Institute offers specialized training to help practitioners and caregivers understand and support it.

๐ŸŒˆ This June, we celebrate Pride Month โ€” and we celebrate every child who is learning to understand who they are.
Research is clear: LGBTQ+ youth who are affirmed and supported by the adults in their lives experience better mental health, stronger connections, and greater resilience. Acceptance isn't just kindness โ€” it's protection.

At SPCC, our work has always centered the whole child โ€” their safety, their wellbeing, and their sense of self. That includes showing up for our LGBTQ+ youth and families with compassion and without judgment.

This month and every month, we stand with you. ๐Ÿ’›

Thank you OLEDWorks and the Legal Aid Society of Rochester for spending your Day of Caring making our spaces beautiful and inviting for the children and families we serve.

Thanks to you...children accessing therapy, support, and safe visitation time with parents will be welcomed at both our Fitzhugh Street office and at the Visitation Center with flowers and freshly cleaned and organized spaces. It's the little things that matter when the hardest situations are happening. Thank you everyone for showing up for kids in this community!

๐Ÿงก May is National Supervised Visitation Awareness Month โ€” and we want to take a moment to honor the children and families we serve through this vital program.

Every child deserves the chance to build a loving relationship with both parents โ€” safely. Supervised Visitation Centers exist as a safe haven, where children can connect with their parents in a nurturing and protected environment.

Behind every visit is a child who simply wants to feel loved. And behind every safe visit is a team of dedicated professionals making sure that happens.

At SPCC, we believe that safety is where healing begins. Whether it's ensuring safety for a child during a visit or helping a family find its footing again โ€” every moment of care matters.

SPCC has served children and families across Western NY for 150 years, providing crisis services, abuse prevention programs, domestic violence support, and home visiting for vulnerable infants.

Our annual golf tournament is our primary fundraiser each year, bringing together a wonderful community of local business leaders and supporters who care deeply about our region's children.

Donated gift certificates and items are featured in our online auction and provide great visibility for your business among our attendees and our supporters online. All donors are recognized on event materials and on social media!

A gift certificate in any amount is greatly appreciated โ€” dining experiences, overnight stays, spa treatments, products, or services all make excellent items. We're also happy to provide a donation acknowledgment letter for your tax records.
