Monroe County Legislature Vice-President Michael G. Barker (District 11) & Legislator Debbie Drawe (District 9) invited ENS. Nick LaSalle and his family to the July 9, 2013 meeting of the Monroe County Legislature. ENS. Nick LaSalle was presented with a proclamation congratulating him on his incredible academic and athletic success in his four years at the United States Naval Academy. Nick graduated at the top of his class, received his first choice of being a naval pilot, and begins flight school in Pensacola, Fla. on August 9, 2013. Nick is a former student of Mr. Barker's social studies class at the Johanna Perrin Middle School. Needless to say Mr. Barker was incredibly proud to reward his former student.

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks was joined today by Legislators Carmen Gumina and Michael Barker, children from the Town of Perinton’s summer recreation camp and community leaders, as she signed the historic law, “Prohibiting Cyber Bullying in Monroe County”. The law will make the act of repetitive cyber bullying punishable providing a $1,000 fine and/or up to one year in jail for those who use the internet or any other piece of technology to attack their victim.
