Community Food Response - Rochester, MN "Rescuing excess prepared food for hungry Rochester families."

We are:
A non-profit, volunteer-led organization serving hungry adults and children in the Rochester area since 1993. Volunteer drivers collect food donations from restaurants, cafeterias, businesses and grocery stores and carry the food to our site. The food is sorted and then distributed to clients, free of charge, to take home or eat elsewhere. In addition to helping people in need, CFR helps r

educe the amount of food waste generated by area restaurants and businesses. We serve:
Adults and families with children in need, many of whom do not qualify for other forms of food assistance. No one is turned away, and clients don’t have to provide financial or employment information to qualify for this program or receive food.

Today is my birthday, so we celebrated by handing out floral bouquets leftover from my weekend party, and cookies!

We are not normally in the pet food rescue business. However, a client asked if I had any pet food, occasionally someone drops some off. I did not have any, but had a few extra minutes this morning and stopped into Petco to ask them if they had any. They gave us a lot! So many clients got food for their pets today. It was really nice. We also stopped by and filled up the little pet food shelf at Hawthorne.

We got a lot of food today and have lots of good bags! I don’t think we’ll run out. We’re open from 4 to hopefully 6. We’re located at 120 1st st ne.
