It has been too long since I have posted, but am I lucky to be alive! Every morning at 5AM I go to my local Tim Hortons (Next to Gates Fire District) and get my usual large coffee. I have been going so often the staff at TH see me pull in off Chilli Ave and I drive right up to the pick up window and they have my order right and ready! Well, this past Sunday AM while going home with the blessed TH, I saw a 'gaggle' of what looked like large cats in the road. I hit the horn, swerved to miss them (I know, what does EVOC teach us?!?) and I hit a power pole hard enough to send my car airborne, across the road and hit a second pole more than half way up and DESTROYED my car. Thank God I was driving my Honda CRV. That car saved my life and took it hard. The airbag was smothering me and it took some time to force the drivers door open, unbuckle my seatbelt and stand far away. A huge thanks to Gates Fire, Gates PD and Gates Towing for their concern and kindness and RGE was there in less than 15 minutes to take care of the burning wires and get the road open again. No serious injuries, just sore from being bounced around. Yea, it's hassle to deal with insurance, getting a new car ASAP and believe me when I say the new car will most likely be another Honda CRV.
