Scatter Creek Eagle Nest Bald Eagle nest along Scatter Creek in Rochester, WA This bald eagle nest is located on private property on the north side of Scatter Creek in Rochester, WA.

If you know where to look it is visible on the hill across the wildlife area from 183rd Avenue. For years after we moved here, eagles would frequently come and perch in the tall trees in our pasture during the winter and spring. We thought the tallest tree looked perfect as a nesting site to us, but it was not until May 2020 that they started bringing in sticks and building a nest. In November of

that year, when they returned from wherever they go in the summer, they resumed building. In late March 2021, they started nesting and the first eaglet was hatched in early May.

Happy Mother's Day from the eagle nest! We are pretty sure there are eaglets hatched now. Not only are we seeing the parents hanging around and roosting more, and more activity in the nest, but on a few occassions have thought we heard very faint eaglet peeping sounds. Now the countdown begins for them to get big enough to peer over the edge where we can see them. A few more weeks!

Homecoming! Eagle comes in - Maybe bearing dinner, and joins the other down in the nest.

Eagle sighting! We were just saying to each other this morning that we were concerned we hadn't seen Leo and Luna here together for some time, and here they are this afternoon! It is now just a matter of weeks until breeding season. We are hopeful again that there will be an eaglet (or two) this year.
