Officers and firefighters had the opportunity to train with Battalion Chief Todd Smith of Vigilant Fire Service Training LLC. Today’s focus was the Code 5 Command System — a practical framework that equips company officers and firefighters with the tools to establish command and make critical decisions during the first few minutes of a fire.

Thank you to Chief Smith for spending the day with us and continuing to strengthen the knowledge, confidence, and experience of our firefighters. Training like this ensures we’re always ready when our community needs us most.

That’s a wrap on our Fire Prevention “Win a Ride to School in a Fire Truck” contest!

Today we finished strong at Listwood Elementary School. Across six West Irondequoit CSD elementary schools, 23 outstanding students showed amazing fire‑prevention knowledge—and enjoyed an experience we hope they’ll remember for a lifetime.

A huge thank‑you to everyone who helped make this program such a success. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!

We had another incredible day at Brookview School as students showed off their creativity and important fire safety knowledge in this week’s Fire Truck to School Contest. Every student who participated worked hard, thought carefully about safety, and created posters and plans they should be truly proud of!

👏 A huge congratulations to our winners!
• Kindergarten: Willow
• 1st Grade: Joey
• 2nd Grade: Ayla
• 3rd Grade: Brooklyn

Each of these students did an amazing job designing thoughtful fire safety plans and eye‑catching posters. Their hard work, imagination, and safety smarts really stood out. We’re proud of all our young fire‑safety champions!

Thank you to all the students and staff at Brookview for helping make fire safety learning fun and meaningful. 🚒❤️

Today, we had the honor of picking up our first "Take a Fire Truck to School" contest winners! A huge shoutout to Isobel, Julian, Aubrey, and Owen from Seneca School for being our first passengers.

Throughout the month, we’ll be picking up four students from every elementary school in the West Irondequoit Central School District. These students did an amazing job educating their families about fire safety, and we were thrilled to have them along for the ride this morning.

We can’t wait to meet the rest of our winners! 🚒🔥
