Stop making excuses for yourself.

Before I was a recruiter, I never really paid attention to social media. Since I've come to Rochester, I've noticed a common theme on here: everyone has an opinion, and everyone wants to be heard.

It's easy to argue and debate in theory, but it's harder to live in practice. A lot of people are scared to put themselves out in the world; they're afraid of making a mistake, of being wrong or embarassed, of being ridiculed by those on the sidelines.

Stop talking about what needs to be done. Do it.

These are the experiences that make you better. Growth can be uncomfortable, but without it we stagnate. Are you ready to take those first uncomfortable steps?

Advancement to higher degrees of proficient is on each individual Marine, and some who demonstrate a mastery of the techniques can even pursue a career as a Martial Arts Instructor Trainer working in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Center of Excellence.

Being a “boss” does NOT make you an effective leader, and working for a boss doesn’t always teach you what leadership is all about.

In the Marines, you’re taught leadership principles that help you learn how to effectively lead others through a wide range of responsibilities.

-Become a physical fitness role model to those who struggle with their personal goals.
-Coach your fellow Marines on marksmanship techniques so they too can shoot a target from up to 500 yards away.
-Instruct the iron ducks on the fundamentals of water survival
-Mentor those suffering through personal challenges in life such as financial stability, relationship issues, family concerns or setting short/long term goals in life.
