Rochester Community Schools welcomes you to an exciting year of learning and growth. Here is an important checklist for families to prepare for the 2026-27 school year.

ParentVUE and StudentVUE. Families should log in to their accounts to complete the annual verification process, confirm emergency contacts and verify student accounts. Please update contact information, including emails and mobile numbers, in order to receive school communications. ParentVUE and StudentVUE both have new, updated mobile apps; however, web access remains the same.

Download the ParentSquare app. Families are encouraged to download the ParentSquare app, which allows users to set personal preferences for school communications to be delivered via email, text, phone or app notifications. ParentSquare is the exclusive RCS communication tool.

World of Welcome takes place for elementary families at various times on Aug. 20. Check with your school for details.

Chromebooks. All K-12 students need an RCS-issued Chromebook. Students who are new to RCS in grades 1-12 should have picked up a device during deployment days. Students entering grades 6 and 9 should have exchanged their current device for updated technology. No action is required for other students. If you still need a device, use this link to schedule an appointment: https://ow.ly/elsW50ZB65S.

Free school meals. The Michigan School Meals program offers universal free breakfast and lunch for all students, based on state funding. Every student is automatically eligible every school day. Monthly menus can be found on the RCS website at: https://ow.ly/tpGh50ZB65Q. À la carte items are also available for purchase in school cafeterias.

Bus information. Bus assignments can be accessed in ParentVUE or StudentVUE. Check here for bus number, pickup/drop-off times and bus stop location. Call 248-726-5925 for questions.

Medical Action Plans. Updated Medical Action Plans are required at the start of every school year and expire on the last day of instruction. Visit: https://ow.ly/6Z9050ZB65R. Students with dietary restrictions (due to medical reasons) must also complete a special diet statement. See: https://ow.ly/5sZa50ZB65T.

School starts Monday, Aug. 24. As a reminder, Aug. 24 is a half day for all students. Aug. 25-28 are a full day for grades 1-12 and students in the special education Adult Transition Program and Services. TK and kindergarten will have altered schedules; see school for details. The district is closed for the Labor Day recess, Sept. 4-7. Classes resume Tuesday, Sept. 8. The full district calendar is available on the RCS website.

Talk to RCS. The best place for information is your individual teacher or administrator. If your question hasn’t been answered, you may use the Talk to RCS feature on the website, by clicking the CONNECT button.
