We provide oversight and assistance to the twelve public school districts, five non-public schools, one special education cooperative, and two Career and Technical Education consortiums in Clay, Crawford, Jasper, Lawrence, and Richland counties. We serve the public through GED record maintenance, student work permits, early childhood education programs, and homeschool registration. School district
s within the five county region receive learning technology support, truancy and safe school services, legal advice, assistance in implementing state and federal rules, regulations, and initiatives, bus driver trainings, homeless student assistance, professional development and certification for teachers, administrators, and school service personnel, fingerprinting and criminal background checks for school personnel, programs for student enrichment, and fund disbursements from the state. We also oversee the process of petitions for changes in school boundaries.
