Deepest Sympathies to the family of Dr. Bill Kirsch. Bill was not only the MCBCRC 1st Vice President, but an ardent patriot and honorable man.

Dr. William J. Kirsch, 85, of Roaring Spring, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 5, 2021, at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring. Arrangements are by John K. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg. A complete obituary will appear in the Mirror at a later date.

We did it! After 10 months of hard work, we won the Pennsylvania state treasurer race!

I cannot thank you enough for all that you have done. Your support, advice and constant cheering was an inspiration throughout this challenging race. Many folks discounted our chances, but you never gave up on me. I am forever grateful for your faith in me and our mission.

Now, we get to work... I ran on a platform of changing the culture in Harrisburg and bringing transparency to the treasurer's office, and that's exactly what I plan to do.

MCRC STATEMENT

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic due to the sudden rise and quick spread of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus. Since then, President Trump has addressed the nation and expressed the need for citizens to be proactive in their responses to the spread of this virus. It is because of that, in combination with the high-risk nature of some of our members, that we are cancelling all events in April for the Morrisons Cove Blair County Republican Club. This includes the upcoming Wine and Cheese event, which has been an annual event that we are disappointed will not continue this year. It also includes our general membership meeting.

We will continue to seek guidance from the federal government moving forward, and we will keep everyone updated regarding the status of future events. We encourage our members to assist in the efforts to control this virus by listening to the guidance of the CDC. Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds each time. Stay home if you feel sick. Avoid large gatherings during this time. And in general, use your head. A public health crisis requires everyone to do their part.
