At the end of last school year, MES students had the opportunity to participate in a Sticker Design Contest featuring Martinsburg Elementary building expectations: Be Safe. Be Kind. Be Respectful. Be the Best You Can Be.
We are excited to celebrate our first winning designer, Bryn Parrilla! 🎉
Bryn created an adorable dragon sticker featuring the message “Be Kind.” Her design was turned into a real sticker, and every MES student received one to help kick off the new school year with an important reminder that kindness matters! ❤️
We love finding ways to give our students a voice and allow their creativity to become part of our school culture. Congratulations, Bryn, and thank you for helping spread kindness throughout MES!

✨ STAY GOLDEN, SCMS! ✨
We kicked off the new school year with our 2026–27 theme: Stay Golden! ☀️
Stay Golden is our reminder to look for the good, bring out the best in each other, keep growing, and make SCMS a place where everyone belongs and shines.
Our staff celebrated with some fun kickoff activities, including making their own Stay Golden sunglasses 😎 and enjoying a lemonade bar! 🍋
A huge thank you to Metzler Auto, Truck, & Trailer for generously donating our awesome Stay Golden shirts! 🙌

📚❤️ Meet the Teacher Night at MES! ❤️📚

We loved welcoming our students and families back to MES for Meet the Teacher Night on August 20!

Literacy was a big part of the evening, with families writing encouraging notes for their children and students enjoying a schoolwide scavenger hunt featuring rhyming clues. 📖🔍 Families also had opportunities for back-to-school photos! 📸

A special thank you to our reading specialists, Mrs. Reed and Mrs. Klock, for organizing the scavenger hunt and helping make literacy fun. Every student who attended also got to choose a FREE book to take home! 📚❤️

Thank you to all of our families for joining us! We’re excited for a wonderful year of learning, reading, and growing together at MES! 🐉

🏈🏈The Central Dragons vs the Philipsburg-Osceola Mounties at tonight's varsity football game.
Gates open at 5:30 PM -- Kick off at 7 PM -- Admission $5 cash only.
Spring Cove Youth Football and Youth Cheerleaders will be recognized prior to kickoff. We are anticipating larger crowds than usual. Please plan accordingly.

🚌 Welcome Back, Dragons!
We are excited to have our students back and want to remind families that as we kick off the new school year, please be aware that buses may run later than expected. It takes a little time for students, drivers, and schools to adjust to new routines.
Thank you for your patience and support as we work together to get our students transported safely!

🚌 Back to school means school buses will be rolling!
As we head into a new school year, please help us keep our students safe by staying alert around school buses and bus stops.
Remember:
• STOP when a school bus has its stop sign extended and red lights flashing.
• WATCH FOR STUDENTS waiting at bus stops and getting on or off the bus.
• SLOW DOWN in school zones and residential areas.
• NEVER pass a stopped school bus when its red lights are flashing.
A few extra seconds of caution can help ensure our Dragons get to and from school safely.
