🚨 A multi-department response today for FIRE PREVENTION!!!

ERB along with Moscow fire/ems, Covington fire, Springbrook fire, and Thornhurst fire, kept it simple by teaching the kids of North Pocono Intermediate and Moscow Elementary fire safety!

The departments split up between the schools and went to work! From allowing the kids to see and feel the gear that we use to feel more safe and comfortable, the types of fire trucks, all the way to the basic “Stop-Drop-And Roll”!

It’s always a great feeling of being a part of the children’s youth to come out and teach!

A very HUGE thank you to each member of all the departments that came out today and for the NPSD for allowing this moment!

🚨 This evening around 8pm, Station 15 along with Moscow EMS, And Pennsylvania Ambulance was dispatched to a single car roll over on interstate 380 south.

Upon chief 15 arrival, the patient was out of the car, and was given to EMS for evaluation. Rescue 15 provided traffic control and scene lighting.

What are today’s tips for fire prevention?!

Battery and Electrical Safety!!

• Use chargers approved by the device manufacturer.
• Charge large lithium-ion items like e-bikes and scooters outside.
• Unplug charging devices once they reach full capacity and avoid charging on soft surfaces like beds or couches.
• Replace damaged electrical cords immediately.

🚨An awesome training night this evening!!

While firefighter K Loessy went over SCBA training, maintenance, and other important functions with newer members. The department engineer and assistant engineer and others installed a new toy for our UTV!!

A recent purchase for a new Polaris ridecommand display will help navigate our UTV and other off road vehicles into the woods!! With gps, tracking capabilities and telecommunications with other vehicles in the North Pocono area!

What are today’s tips on fire prevention?!

Heating appliances!!! With the cold nights creeping on us more and more, here are some things to keep an eye on!

• Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn.
• Turn off space heaters when you leave the room or go to sleep.
• Have chimneys and furnaces inspected by a professional every year.
• Keep candles 1 foot away from flammable items and blow them out before leaving.

Due to road construction and part of the intersection improvement project, there are significant traffic delays currently on Mt Cobb Road (SR348) between the corners near the Onvo at Moosic Lake Road & Cortez Road. Please allow extra time to get to your destination and seek an alternate route if you need to travel through this area to avoid traffic backups.
