Representatives from Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare's Co-Response Program recently attended the 7th Annual National Co-Responder Conference (CoRCon 2026) in Dallas, Texas.
Attending the conference were Roanoke Police Department Lieutenant Ronald Robinson, City of Roanoke 911 Operations Administrator Traci Shelton, and Co-Response Crisis Clinicians Taylor Thompson and Hope Keffer.
The National Co-Responder Conference brings together public safety professionals, behavioral health experts, crisis clinicians, and program leaders from across the country to share best practices, innovative approaches, and emerging trends in crisis response and behavioral health partnerships.
Throughout the conference, attendees participated in educational sessions, keynote presentations, and networking opportunities focused on strengthening collaborative responses to individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, and behavioral health crises.
This conference also provided an opportunity to reflect on the progress being made here in Roanoke. Under the leadership and direction of Mandy Lee, Director of Marcus Alert and Crisis Intervention Team Services, our agencies have worked collaboratively to build and strengthen partnerships that ensure citizens have access to the resources and services that best meet their individual needs. Whether that response involves law enforcement, behavioral health services, crisis intervention, or community-based support, our shared goal remains connecting individuals with the right help at the right time.
The knowledge and ideas gained through this conference will help support and enhance our ongoing efforts to provide compassionate, effective, and community-focused crisis intervention services throughout the Roanoke Valley.
Thank you to the International Co-Responder Alliance for hosting another outstanding conference and providing an opportunity to learn from programs across the nation.
