Meet Amy Gobert, a 2027 Louisiana Principal of the Year semifinalist from Elton High School in Jefferson Davis Parish Schools.

Specifics: These types of positions at small country schools don’t come open often. It’s three 7th grade science and three 6th grade math classes. There are no before/after school meetings and only one 26min lunch duty in the cafeteria per week. We strive to run a tight ship here with big expectations, lots of support, and a great school culture.

There will be a Leadership Camp at WAR on May 18, these students are invited to participate. This will be held during the school day.

Jeff Davis Parish Child Nutrition Department will offer Summer Free 7-Day Meal Kits for children 0-18 years of age each Monday starting June 1, 2026, and ending July 20, 2026. Please use the link or QR code to register. One registration form must be completed per child, and the selected pick-up-site location at the time of registration will be the designated pick-up-site for the summer. Pre-registration will close on May 26, 2026. On-site registration will be available for the first three designated pick-up dates.
