At approximately 7:04 P.M. on September 5, 2026, Roanoke County Fire and Rescue units responded to the 3100 block of Carvins Cove Road for reports of a camper fire.
First responding units from Masons Cove reported smoke rising in the air upon arrival and upgraded the incident to a working fire.
Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters discovered a camper engulfed in flames. Crews were able to knock down the fire in approximately five minutes.
There were no injuries and no displacements reported because of this incident. The Roanoke County Fire Marshal’s Office reported that the failure of an electrical part in the camper caused the fire. The estimated loss is $30,000. The fire did not extend or cause damage to the home.
