Orchard Hills Achievement Center, Inc. Investing in children. The program began with 17 children and quickly grew to 31 children. Orchard Hills Achievement Center was incorporated in 2013.

 Our History:
In the spring of 2011, the idea of establishing an enrichment program to provide academic support and groceries during the summer for children from underserved families was brought to
the attention of a group of churches in the Roanoke Valley. These churches worked together with community volunteers to create a Tuesday morning summer program where these children experienced

the love of Jesus. The program provided remediation, character building, health and wellness, creative expression, lunches, weekly groceries, and all needed school supplies for the following school year. In January 2012, a Homework Helps program was established on Monday and Wednesday afternoons to continue the academic, social, and spiritual progress begun in the summer months. With a volunteer/child ratio of 1/4, the Homework Helps program provides children without adequate academic support in the home the ability to complete homework assignments and receive additional support in core subject areas. In the fall of 2013 a Mom and Me preschool program began with the goal of providing kindergarten readiness, social skills, and a healthy snack to children and their mothers.

Every step can make a difference! Saturday, June 13, participants in the Steps to Serve challenge will hike 7 peaks near Roanoke to raise funds for OHAC! While they take on the miles, you can support their journey by making a donation or pledging an amount per mile completed.
