Just wanted to update everyone on the situation concerning our fence and stakes that were stolen from the cemetery. There has been a report made with the Carter County sheriff's department and it is under investigation. If anyone has information on who might have taken the fence or been involved please contact me or the sheriff's department. The good news is we have gotten enough donations to have our fence replaced along with signs and cameras that will be put up at the cemetery. Also the sheriff's deputies are doing an excellent job checking on the cemetery numerous times a day and also at night. I want to thank everyone that has donated towards the fence and mowing of the cemetery this mowing season. Without donations none of this could be done. Anyone that knows Dan and Martha Whittaker and sees them out and about let them know how much they are appreciated for their donation of half the cost to have the fence put back up. Without their donation we couldn't have done this right now. Jerry Lunsford will be doing the work on the fence and we're hoping to have it up by decoration which is June 13th. The cost of the materials and the work for the fencing is going to be $2380.00. I have the estimate for that and will have the receipt once the job is completed for anyone that want's to see it. I hope everyone has a wonderful summer !!!

Hello friends and family, I have talked to a few people that would like to try and get our fence that was stolen from the cemetery replaced. We would have to do a separate donation from the mowing fund. I have gotten an estimate on buying the fencing, stakes, hardware and the labor to replace the fence. The estimate for the complete project is $2380.00. That's with using the gate that was left and replacing the one small gate that was stolen previously. I have a very generous man that is wanting to match your donation. In other words if you give $40.00 he will give $40.00. He will do this with everyone that sends in a donation. This will be set up of course as fence replacement fund separate from mowing fund. If we were to get donations over the amount of the cost then this would be added to the mowing fund and left in the bank for future mowing. Also we haven't had meetings for the cemetery in quite a few years. If that's something people would have an interest in we can try to figure out somewhere to have meetings maybe during the summer months. Maybe once every 2 to 3 month meetings and discuss things like how much money we have in the cemetery funds and if anyone has any suggestions of things to make the cemetery better. Jerry and I are going to start this fund for replacing the fence with $100.00 donation and our generous donor will match that. As always you can mail a check or deposit into carter county bank into Issacs cemetery account. Make checks out to Issacs cemetery and add if it's for fence or mowing and mail to me at 403 bluegrass road Roan Mountain, TN 37687. If you do deposit cash into the account please let me know through private message so I can know that it's for the fence or mowing and can write your name down that you donated. I appreciate all of the donations thus far for the mowing and weedeating of the cemetery. I have the mowers going out today to get started on the cleaning up, mowing and weedeating for the season. If we have money left over at the end of mowing season it is left in the account for the next year. Also the bank account is always an open book for anyone that has questions. Just private message me and I'll be glad to discuss the account with you. Thank you to all that help out with taking care of the cemetery. Just wanted to let everyone know that the newsletter has been sent out for those that I have addresses for. If you are on this page and I don't have your address you can pm it to me and I will be glad to add you to our mailing list and send you a letter. Want to thank Geno Stafford and his family for going out and fixing their family members stone. Also I would like to thank all of you in advance that sends in a donation for mowing and weedeating this up coming season. Have already received some donations and they are greatly appreciated. Hello friends, this is Denise Brown and I'm the caretaker of Isaac's cemetery. Starting this page in hopes of keeping everyone updated on anything that's going on at the cemetery. I will still be sending out the yearly letters to hopefully get donations for mowing the cemetery. We have recently had some vandalism at the cemetery. Back after hurricane Helena we had a group of men from Kentucky come out and put up some new fence around the cemetery and clean trees and debris up that had fell on the fence and into the cemetery. This fence and stakes have recently been taken down and stolen. One of the smaller gates has been gone for awhile now. The bigger gates are still there but one is laying on the ground. There is 2 or 3 head stones that are turned over. Not sure if someone done this or if this is weather related from the freezing of the ground and then thawing. I have noticed several head stones that are leaning one of those being my grandmother and grandfather's that Jerry and I will fix ourselves. I will post pictures of those turned over in hopes of getting in touch with the families. Carter County sheriff's office has been notified of the vandalism and met me at the cemetery today. They will be patrolling the area more often. Anyone with information on this please let me know. If anyone has any ideals of things we could do to make our cemetery better please feel free to let me know that also. David and Sherry Stevens will be mowing and weedeating for us again this summer as far as I know. They do an Awesome job !! Going to invite as many people that I can remember that has Facebook but I'm sure I will forget some so feel free to invite them if you know someone I missed.
