As a licensed home based preschool I attend many many many trainings to keep up with current practices and trends. Sometimes I feel that some practices or trends are just fluff. If you know me I reject fluff I go against the grain. I always ask the why behind a practice. 20 years providing care and sometimes I think the practice looks good on paper but does not connect with the students. I said all that to say. I created a system to identify kids that are home and at school and students were excited the first day. Today is day 5 they are over it. One little said why do I have to move it “I’m here, you see me “ (legitimate question). We need to get back to the basics of Planning lessons that incorporate the basics that build a foundation. Find the connections with the students then TEACH.
