Today, FDC proudly recognizes the extraordinary courage of Sergeant L. Lagrandeur, who recently placed himself in harm’s way to help evacuate neighbors during a devastating apartment fire that also impacted his own family.

Despite personal loss, he stepped up to protect others, demonstrating leadership and bravery both on and off duty.

His actions reflect the integrity and professionalism that define our staff.

Civil Rights Leader R.I.P

Mass incarceration without questions as to why
Many Victims turned offenders from deception and from lies
I can never make a promise to anyone behind the wall
When down and out and suffering they have no one at all
We speak about the DOC’s corruption through and through
Yet so-called righteous men and women contribute to it too
Who do our prisoners turn to when deprived, abused, denied
When trying to maintain hope from the promises and lies.
Human beings fallen, in pain and broken hearted
Wondering now what happened and how it all got started

Reality now becomes the despair there is no hope
Alive within their hearts or abilities to cope.

I’m ending many promises to broken-hearted souls
I’m tired of all the talking from those with different goals.

I promised many prisoners that help was on the way
Only to be part of deception and dismay

Please remember sons and daughters GOD Himself Created
and remember many stumbled because of those who hated

Students cannot learn when they are afraid for their safety or the safety of their families, friends, and educators.
