💪🏃‍♂️ Riverton Police Department Takes on HYROX in Washington, D.C.! 🇺🇸

Yesterday, Corporal Reeder and Officer Lopez stepped outside of the patrol car and onto the HYROX course in Washington, D.C. — and they represented the Riverton Police Department extremely well!

For those who aren’t familiar, HYROX is a fitness race that combines running with demanding functional exercises. Competitors run 1 kilometer, complete a workout station, and repeat that combination eight times. The workout stations include things like sled pushes and pulls, rowing, farmer’s carries, burpee broad jumps, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. In total, competitors complete 8 kilometers of running along with 8 challenging workout stations.

It’s an event that requires strength, endurance, teamwork, and a whole lot of determination. 💪

Our officers took on the challenge, pushed through every station, and proudly represented the Riverton Police Department on a national stage.

We couldn’t be more proud of the effort they put in and the example they set. They showed the same dedication, teamwork, and commitment that they bring to the community every day.

On 08/22 Riverton Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Camden, NJ after he eluded police on his motorcycle on Broad Street on 8/3. Through the investigation the subject's identity was determined and the motorcycle used in the crime was located and seized. The subject was charged with eluding, obstruction and issued numerous traffic summonses including driving while suspended, uninsured motorist and reckless driving.

Eluding police is never worth it. The safest decision is to pull over. A decision to flee often results in more severe consequences than the original offense.
