SO excited to see our rebuilt tennis courts being used in earnest. As the councilman that wrote the grant apps and for the rebuild itself, I was fortunate to have a great team on my Parks & Rec Committee. Two locals - one on committee - said “add pickle ball lines” and we did.

All - tennis and basketball courts are on everyone's minds now that spring is here. Unfortunately, the paint/sealer coat is the most critical part of having a great result and the weather, as well as other jobs backing up, hasn't helped

I reached out to our contractor an we have this reply:
First off, let me say that color coating this time of year is weather controlled, as our manufacturers recommendations are that we coat when temperatures are 50 degrees and rising, and can be tricky. We can not coat, 24 hours before and after precipitation is imminent, to allow for excess water evaporation and proper curing. Some years, our first courts coated may not be until mid - May, and sometimes are not completed until after Memorial Day weekend. This time of year, our color coating time line revolves around the HS's, who need the courts to compete seasonally, and painting areas that can dry/cure the acrylic paint properly so that owners will have little problems down the road. As discussed, we color coated the HS courts on our schedule first and will be colorcoating the courts that can best cure next, those in the sun, and provide the best results. Unfortunately, the courts in Riverton get a lot of shade. The courts are on the list next though, and as weather conditions continue to improve, we expect good results.

Hey Rivertonians I have some great news: We are about the break ground on the newest piece of our Memorial Park improvements. Within the next 2-3 days Fred and his crew will take down the 4 baskets, the tennis nets and all the fencing around the tennis courts. American Athletic will then pulverize the 3 tennis courts and 2 basketball courts. In short order we will have all new courts, fixtures and fencing.
