Tribal members can obtain free use permits for tipi pole harvesting in the Big Horn Mountains through our office. This also includes shade poles and brush. Although there is no fee associated with these permits, recipients are asked to report the number of poles harvested due to timber sales obligations. Individuals planning to collect poles from the Big Horn National Forest this summer should visit our office to obtain a permit.
