Warm and dry conditions continue across western and central Wyoming into the upcoming weekend. Temperatures each day reach the upper 70s to mid 80s, with partly to mostly sunny skies. Elevated fire weather concerns continue, with gusty west winds each afternoon.

A quick-moving weather system over northern Nevada, southeast Oregon, and southern Idaho will reach Wyoming Thursday evening and cross the state by around midday Friday. The increased cloud cover will keep temperatures a bit warmer overnight. There could be a few light showers or virga late Thursday evening until around sunrise Friday, mainly across far west Wyoming. Most areas should see more sun by Friday afternoon along with increasing westerly wind. Highs Friday will range from 75 to 85 degrees.

Red Flag Warnings remain in effect from southwestern portions of the state to Natrona County and include the Absaroka and Wind River Mountains. Winds are not expected to be as strong today, with gusts of 25 to 30 mph in place by mid-afternoon.

Above normal temperatures and gusty westerly wind Thursday give way to a cold front Friday. The front pushes south Friday across areas east of the Continental Divide during the day and early evening. If you have outdoor plans Friday evening, be prepared for it to be a bit chilly, especially across the northern Bighorn Basin.

Elevated to critical fire weather conditions will be in place again for many lower elevation areas. Red Flag Warnings are in effect from southwestern portions of the state to Natrona County. Winds will be the lightest of the week, with gusts up to 25 mph in these areas. These conditions will return Thursday, but wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph will be more widespread.

Elevated to critical fire weather conditions will be in place again for many lower elevation areas. Red Flag Warnings are in effect for portions east of the Divide as a result. Another cold front will move across the area this evening. Otherwise, conditions will remain dry with seasonal temperatures with clear skies today.
