🌧️💧 Did you know?

Stormwater management isn’t just a good practice—it’s required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under the Clean Water Act.

Communities must follow these regulations to help reduce pollution, prevent flooding, and protect our rivers and streams. When rainwater flows over streets, lawns, and parking lots, it can carry trash, oil, and other pollutants straight into local waterways.

That’s why stormwater programs matter—they help keep our water clean and our community safe. 🌎💙

When it rains, where does that water go? 🌧️

Stormwater doesn’t flow to a treatment plant like wastewater—it goes directly into our rivers and streams. Along the way, it picks up everything in its path: litter, oil, pet waste, chemicals, and more.

That means what’s left on the ground today can end up in our waterways tomorrow.

Help protect our local rivers and streams:
✔️ Keep trash picked up
✔️ Dispose of waste properly
✔️ Be mindful of what’s left on streets and sidewalks

Only rain belongs in the storm drain. đź’§
