The Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) is one of three entities serving the drainage needs of the County of Riverside and its cities. The District’s service area (2,700 square miles) covers the western third of the county, with its eastern limits extending through parts of Cathedral City.

Riverside County Flood Control & Water Conservation District is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor to lead fleet maintenance operations for a diverse fleet of 150+ vehicles and equipment, including excavators, dozers, dump trucks, service trucks, passenger vehicles, and emergency generators.

Competitive candidates will have:
✔ ASE Master Certification (Automotive and/or Medium/Heavy-Duty Truck Repair)
✔ Experience diagnosing electrical and mechanical systems using fleet maintenance software (EJ Ward, Asset Works, or similar)
✔ Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, truck maintenance, and fleet procurement specifications
✔ Experience with DOT, CARB, ACF, BIT, and Cal/OSHA compliance requirements
✔ Valid Class A CDL with Passenger and Tanker endorsements
✔ Strong communication, customer service, and Microsoft Office skills
Lead a skilled team supporting critical public infrastructure throughout Riverside County.

Congratulations to our employees who participated in the inaugural County-Wide Soccer Tournament!

The tournament brought together employees from different departments across Riverside County for a friendly, after-hours opportunity to connect, build relationships, and promote teamwork. Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District advanced to the championship match, where Department of Waste Resources earned the tournament title.

Nabil Saleeb, a supervisor at the District was featured as the “Player of the Match”.

We are proud of our employees for representing the District with professionalism, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the season. Opportunities like this help strengthen the collaborative relationships that support public service across our county.

We are excited to welcome our new Survey and Mapping Interns this summer, Keoni Bactad and Gabriela Favela-Aguirre!

Keoni Bactad is a junior at Cal Poly Pomona majoring in the Civil Engineering: Geospatial Engineering program. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and participating in outdoor activities.

Gabriela Favela-Aguirre is an undergraduate Civil & Geospatial Engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona. Previously, she conducted undergraduate research on Digital Twin modeling and interned with CASC Engineering and Consulting, where she gained experience in land development engineering. She aspires to become a licensed Professional Land Surveyor and Professional Civil Engineer. Outside of academics, she enjoys baking and cooking with her loved ones.

We are thrilled to have Keoni and Gabriela join our team and look forward to the contributions they will make throughout the summer. Please join us in welcoming them to the team!
