GCAP - Green Campus Action Plan

GCAP - Green Campus Action Plan The Green Campus Action Plan is an initiative to create a cleaner and greener UCR. Vote YES for the Green Campus Action plan!

The Green Campus Action Plan (GCAP) was first voted by students in 2010 and instilled ONLY a $2.50 fee per student. Here is the breakdown:

-25% will be going back to financial aid scholarships

-over 10 new student jobs focusing on sustainability through the administrations the Office of Sustainability

- year long paid internships specializing in LEED, UC Riverside Community Garden and Waste Ef

ficiency

- up to $5,000 for large scale student led sustainable projects

- $500 for smaller outreach and educational funds in regards to sustainability

In the Past: GCAP has been responsible for paid student internships, large scale STUDENT LED projects like the Mobile-solar powered generator(the only one of its kind) drought resistant plants near Bournes engineering, UC Riverside Community Garden Solar powered sustainable toilette, past projects regarding sustainable outreach and others. GCAP also proposed and accomplished large scale projects like the HUB solar panels, which will be on by next year and new solar powered benches complete with clean powered outlets.
