Ramona High School RUSD

Ramona High School RUSD Ramona High School was opened in 1956, and graduated its first class in 1958. This is the official Facebook for the home of the Rams.

The city of Riverside, in which Ramona High School is located, was founded in 1870 in order to establish a colony dedicated to furthering education and culture. Riverside is most famous for the citrus industry that started in 1871 when Eliza Tibbets received two Brazilian navel orange trees sent to her by a friend at the Department of Agriculture in Washington. Today, it is a diverse suburban area

with a dwindling number of orange groves, facing many new challenges due to changing economic conditions. Riverside was chosen as an All-American City in 1995 and 1998. It is host to several colleges and universities including California Baptist University, La Sierra University, Riverside Community College and the University of California – Riverside. Ramona High School is a school that is unique. Opened in 1956, it is the oldest of five high school facilities in the Riverside Unified School District (RUSD). The district is the fifteenth largest district in the state, enrolling approximately 43,000 students in kindergarten through grade 12. It serves a 92-square mile area including a major portion of the city of Riverside. More than 51 different languages are spoken by RUSD students. The district operates 47 schools – 30 elementary, one special education pre-school, six middle schools (grades 7 and 8), five
comprehensive high schools (grades 9 through 12), three alternative high schools, one virtual online school and one independent study school. Ramona has been in the community for 61 years. Many of our community members attended Ramona and have children or grandchildren attending Ramona. Many of the staff members are
Ramona alumni. There is a lot of Ramona pride in the community and it is shown through the community support that Ramona receives. Ramona has many community organizations that support our clubs, athletic programs, and extracurricular programs. The converse is true as well -- our students give back to our community by being involved in service organizations such as Big Brothers/Sisters in the Big Little programs at our two of our primary feeder schools as well
as the Habitat for Humanity and other organizations.
