🚨 NEW ORDINANCE ADOPTED – E-BIKES & SCOOTERS 🚨

The Township of River Vale has officially adopted Ordinance #470-2026 to help protect our parks, fields, and recreational spaces and keep them safe for everyone.

What you need to know:
• E-bikes, motorized bicycles, electric scooters, and bicycles are prohibited on Township-owned fields, parks, playgrounds, trails, and recreation areas unless otherwise posted
• These devices are only permitted on public roadways or designated areas
• Parking is restricted to designated bike racks/areas only

⚠️ Violations may result in fines up to $200 for a first offense and up to $500 for subsequent offenses

On Tuesday 4/28 road work will begin on Brookside Ave until the completion of the project. Please plan an alternate route and follow posted detours. Police Officers will be present to assist. Work is scheduled to begin at 7:00am and to finish at approximately 3:30pm.

During the month of April, the River Vale Police Department is proud to stand with our community in supporting individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. We are committed to building a safer, more understanding, and inclusive environment for everyone we serve.

Autism awareness goes beyond recognition—it’s about acceptance, patience, and meaningful connection. Together, we can create a community where every individual is respected, supported, and empowered.

River Vale Police also participates in the Blue Envelope Program—a voluntary initiative designed to assist drivers with autism during motor vehicle stops. The envelope helps individuals easily provide important documents while discreetly notifying officers of a communication difference, allowing for a more informed, patient, and positive interaction.
