Reminder: (Tomorrow 08/17) Road Closure on Westwood Avenue (Eastbound Lane)

ROAD CLOSURE – FRIDAY, AUGUST 14 & MONDAY, AUGUST 17

Please be advised that Tilcon will be conducting milling and paving operations in Old Tappan at the town border line on Friday, August 14, and Monday, August 17, from approximately 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day.

🚨 HARD CLOSURE:
Eastbound Westwood Avenue at Clauss Lane. There will be no through traffic at this location.

⚠️ SOFT CLOSURE:
Eastbound Westwood Avenue from Rivervale Road to Blauvelt Street. Local residents will be permitted access to their homes.

❗ IMPORTANT: There will be NO ACCESS INTO OLD TAPPAN FROM WESTWOOD AVENUE during the road closures.

Motorists are asked to plan ahead, use alternate routes, and allow additional travel time. Please follow posted detours and directions from police officers and roadway personnel.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while this necessary road work is completed.

Road Improvement Project Update – Wednesday, August 5th

The River Vale Police Department advises residents that road work will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5, weather permitting.

Paving operations will continue on Baylor Avenue and will move onto Bernita Drive from Baylor Avenue.

Milling operations will take place on Bernita Drive from Ridge Road to Prospect Avenue, as well as Bergen Place.

Officers will be on scene throughout the project to assist residents, motorists, and contractors and to help ensure traffic moves safely through the work zone.

Residents on the affected streets are asked to remove their vehicles from their driveways prior to the 7:00 AM start and relocate them to designated side streets to allow crews to complete the work safely and efficiently.

Please expect temporary road closures, traffic delays, and limited access while work is underway. We ask that everyone follow all posted detours, road closure signs, and the directions of officers and traffic control personnel.
