TCESD 1 crews trained on mid-rise firefighting operations, sharpening the skills needed for complex incidents in multi-story apartment and hotel buildings. While we don’t have many mid-rise buildings in our primary response area, our mutual aid partners do — and we train to be ready whenever our community or neighboring communities need us.
During the drill, firefighters practiced a fast knockdown through a window using a master stream from the engine, then worked through multiple hose deployment methods to get water to the fire floor. Crews also trained on ground ladder operations for window rescues, reinforcing the teamwork and coordination these incidents demand.
Mid-rise fires require strategy, staffing, communication, and precision. Every drill like this helps ensure our firefighters are prepared to respond quickly, work safely, and protect lives and property when it matters most. We’re proud of the time and effort our crews continue to invest in training — because preparation today helps us serve our community better tomorrow.
