Following a recent after-action review, your River Oaks Fire Department is taking proactive steps to enhance our response capabilities in flood and high-water incidents.

All shifts will be receiving Swift Water Awareness training, ensuring our personnel are better prepared to operate safely and effectively in these dangerous environments.

B Shift is kicking things off, focusing on equipment familiarization and proper use of personal flotation devices and rescue gear.

Training like this strengthens our ability to protect both our community and our firefighters.

In the early hours, your River Oaks Firefighters were deployed to assist Fort Worth Fire Department during significant flooding in the 7th Street area.

Crews operated in rapidly rising water, at times wading through approximately 4 feet of moving water while conducting high-water rescue operations.
