Happy International Vulture Awareness Day! Vultures of all kinds are extraordinarily beneficial to our ecosystems, acting as "clean-up crews" of all kinds of dead and organic waste. Our resident vulture, Morticia, is a Turkey Vulture. These birds are unique in that they have an excellent sense of smell, and are able to track stinky carcasses from 8 miles away! We thank our feathered friends for all their hard work they do!
