🐺🏃‍♂️ READY, SET, HOWL! THE RED WOLF RAMPAGE 5K/10K IS THIS SATURDAY!🏃‍♀️🐺

Lace up those running shoes, stretch those legs, and prepare for a WILD adventure because the Red Wolf Rampage 5K/10K is almost here! 🌲🍂

Forget your average neighborhood 5K! Our course features gorgeous scenic views, rugged rocky terrain, beautiful fall scenery, and plenty of wildlife!🦊🦌 Whether you're chasing a personal record or just trying not to trip over a rock while admiring the scenery, this race is sure to keep you on your toes! 👟

🐺 And speaking of competition...

Rumor has it that our resident wolves, Dale and NaCoda, have been training HARD for this weekend. Their workout routine consists of chasing our staff and taking approximately 47 naps a day. We're not saying they're going to outrun you... but they've got four legs, home-field advantage, and absolutely no concept of pacing themselves. 👀😂

After all, snails are an important part of wildlife!** 🐌💚 They help break down organic material, recycle nutrients, and serve as food for other animals. So whether you're a speedy wolf or more of a leisurely snail, there's no shame in moving at your own pace!

🦦💦 SPLISH, SPLASH… SOMEONE'S TAKING A BATH! 💦🦦

Move over, Michael Phelps! We have a new swimming champion here at Red Wolf Sanctuary! 🏊‍♂️🏅

Our mink is making quite the splash, and we're pretty sure nobody told him pool season was over! 😂

🌊 DID YOU KNOW?
Mink are actually incredible swimmers! These semi-aquatic members of the weasel family have partially webbed feet and thick, water-resistant fur that helps them navigate the water. They can even dive underwater to hunt for fish, frogs, and other aquatic prey!

While most of us prefer a nice, relaxing float, mink are built for speed, agility, and underwater adventures!

🐾 EXCUSE ME, HUMAN… WE NEED TO TALK! 🐾

Hi, yes, it’s me. Your favorite tiny, spotted, slightly dramatic bobcat. 😼💕 I’ve been informed that apparently being ridiculously adorable is NOT a valid form of payment for my food, toys, and five-star accommodations here at Red Wolf Sanctuary. RUDE. 🙄 I was under the impression that my cuteness paid the bills, but the humans say we need something called donations. So, if you could spare a few dollars to help keep my belly full and my spoiled little self happy, I promise to continue being absolutely adorable while causing just the right amount of chaos. 🐾❤️ Every donation helps care for me and all my wild friends!

🐺💤 WANTED: TWO VERY DANGEROUS NAP PREDATORS! 💤🐺

Here at Red Wolf Sanctuary, our grey wolves have been caught doing what they do best… absolutely NOTHING. 😂

While their wild relatives are out patrolling territories, hunting, and surviving in the wilderness, these two (Croix and Kiowa) have decided that their biggest responsibility today is finding the perfect sleeping position. 💤

Fun Wolf Fact! 🐺 Wolves can spend a large portion of their day resting and sleeping to conserve energy. After all, being an apex predator is exhausting work… even when your biggest challenge is deciding whether to roll over or keep snoozing. 🤣

Don't let those adorable sleepy faces fool you, though! Underneath all that fluff are some of nature's most intelligent and powerful predators. ❤️
