Dear Parents, Guardians, and Patrons of the Ririe School District,

Below in the photos is an Elementary School Bond Discussion Timeline summarizing the Ririe School Board’s public discussions about the possibility of building a new elementary school. If you are a parental contact of a student in our school district, you will have received a text and email from the school district about it today.

This process began in November 2024 with discussions about long-range enrollment growth, facility needs, potential building sites, and the district’s ten-year facilities plan. Every date and item included in the timeline comes directly from a Regular School Board Meeting or School Board Work Meeting.

The district is still gathering information and evaluating possible building sites. No final decision has been made regarding where a new elementary school would be located. Before any decision is made, the board plans to hold a community listening session where parents, patrons, staff, and other community members can learn more and share their perspectives.

We recognize that the location of a new elementary school is an important decision that will affect students, families, and the community for many years. The board is committed to conducting this process carefully, openly, and with opportunities for meaningful public input.

Additional information about the community listening session will be shared once the date, time, and location have been determined.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

After observing traffic on the first two days of school, we want to remind everyone of our drop-off and pick-up procedures at Ririe Elementary. Please review the attached map and follow the designated red Student Drop-Off/Pick-Up lanes and blue Bus Lane.

A few important reminders:

1. Traffic will NOT stop on 1st West this year. Please use extra caution when entering, exiting, or crossing the street.

2. Students should only cross at the marked crosswalks.

3. Please do not walk between buses.

4. Pull forward as far as possible in the drop-off lane and have students ready to exit on the passenger side.

5. Please drive slowly, stay alert, and follow directions from school staff.

Our goal is to keep students safe while keeping traffic moving as smoothly as possible. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as everyone becomes familiar with the procedures!

We honor the men and women who have served—and continue to serve—to protect those freedoms, and we’re thankful for the communities, families, and traditions that make our nation strong.
