We held our Class IV Wastewater course this week. There were 12 operators from 9 different utilities from around the State and two WVDEP Inspectors in attendance.

The students worked REALLY hard (hence the not so gleeful faces in the Thursday afternoon class photo) and hopefully it pays off with their exam scores!

A big THANK YOU to Rich for teaching this week. It was sunny and I’m sure the golf course and lake were beckoning but he never let it show, even holding an extra math review session after class. THANKS RICH!

Also, a big THANK YOU to Brenda for coming in to teach business math. No one does it better! THANKS Brenda!

A big THANK YOU going out to Ernie Utter, Chief Operator at the Morgantown Utility Board (MUB) main plant and Vince Walick, a Class III WW Operator, for helping teach our Class I WW course a few weeks ago. They both did a GREAT job!!

The Morgantown WWTP includes advanced treatment technology, both at the headworks and at the end with membranes.

The students also got to visit the Cheat Lake WWTP, an oxidation ditch that is managed by MUB as well, and practice some of the skills that they learned in class. Also, a big THANK YOU to MUB’s lab tech, Jim, for being willing to lead the students in completing an ammonia nitrogen profile analysis, during the field trip and THANK YOU to Chief Operator Jerret Luzadder of the Cheat Lake plant for hosting our students, providing a tour of the plant and assisting with our field trip.

A special shout out to Dave from MUB for running support services for us during class.

Our Class I students got to experience both a Class IV and a Class I plant all in the same week. What a wonderful learning opportunity for new operators.

THANK YOU MUB for your continued support!! We could not provide the quality training that we do without support from our training partners.

MUB ROCKS!!!
