Tonight, our Fire and EMS members trained together on a simulated rolled-over ATV accident, working through multiple scenarios and different ways to approach the scene.
Trainings like this are a great reminder that no two calls are exactly alike. It is easy to get tunnel vision, especially on high-stress scenes, but there is often more than one safe and effective way to solve a problem. That is why it is so important to slow down, assess the scene, listen to each other’s ideas, and work as one team.
We focused on patient access, stabilization, scene safety, equipment use, and communication throughout the incident. Knowing your equipment and being comfortable with how and when to use it can make a huge difference when seconds count. Just as important is clear communication between our volunteer members so everyone understands the plan, their role, and any changes as the scene develops.
Training together helps build trust, strengthen teamwork, and prepare us to give our community the best possible response when real emergencies happen.
Thank you to all our volunteers!
