We are proud to highlight Mr. Robert Aberin, Precision Manufacturing Technology (PMT) instructor at South Texas College, for representing our students and connecting classroom learning to real-world career opportunities.
Mr. Aberin recently participated in a presentation featuring Jean-Luc Di Paola-Galloni, CEO of Valeo, who shared exciting plans for Valeo’s upcoming manufacturing facility in South Texas near the STC Technology Center in McAllen.
Valeo is a global leader in automotive technology and is expanding opportunities in our region, including the manufacturing of major components for BMW’s fully electric vehicles. The company is also looking for skilled employees in areas such as advanced manufacturing, mechatronics, automation, and other technical fields.
For our PMT students, opportunities like these demonstrate how the skills they develop at STC can lead directly to internships, employment, and long-term careers right here in the Rio Grande Valley.
Mr. Aberin also shared the success story of Julian Solis, a former PMT student who graduated in May 2026 and recently began his career with GE Aerospace. His accomplishment is a great example of how technical education can open doors to careers with major industry employers.
Through partnerships with companies such as Valeo and GE Aerospace, STC continues to strengthen the connection between education and the workforce. These industry partnerships help ensure that students are gaining the skills and experiences needed to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving technical industries.
