🚨 TRAINING NOTICE 🚨

The Fort Oglethorpe Police Department will be conducting Building Clearing Training exercises at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School on the following dates:

During these training sessions, citizens can expect to see a heavy police presence in and around the school campus. Officers, police vehicles, and training activities will be visible throughout the area. This is only a training exercise, and there is no need for alarm.

For the safety of both the public and participating officers, we ask that citizens please stay clear of the school grounds while training is being conducted.

These exercises are an important part of ensuring our officers remain prepared to respond effectively during critical incidents and emergencies. We appreciate the continued support and cooperation of our community as we work to keep Fort Oglethorpe safe.

Just a heads-up for anyone in the Fort Oglethorpe area—there appears to be a water issue. The city and the water company have both been notified and are aware of the situation.

If you’re experiencing low water pressure or other water-related problems, you’re not alone. Hopefully crews will have it resolved as quickly as possible. Please share with others in the area so they’re aware.

With extreme heat expected in our area over the coming days, Catoosa County Emergency Management has partnered with the Catoosa County Library to provide a Cooling Station for anyone needing relief from the dangerous temperatures.

🕒 Cooling Station Hours:
Monday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Thursday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Friday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Sunday: CLOSED

🌡️ High temperatures can quickly become dangerous, especially for older adults, young children, individuals with chronic medical conditions, and those without adequate air conditioning.

Heat Safety Tips:
💧 Drink plenty of water—even if you don't feel thirsty.
🏠 Stay indoors or in air-conditioned locations during the hottest part of the day.
👵 Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and friends.
🚗 Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
👒 If you must be outdoors, wear light-colored clothing, take frequent breaks, and seek shade whenever possible.
